The Birkin bag is a famous bag from French Hermès named after British actress Jane Birkin.
According to film director Andrew Litvack, Birkin ended up with an incident next to the CEO of the fashion house Hermès on an airplane, and then accidentally dropped the contents of his bag on the floor. The CEO and Birkin started talking and she ended up having to sketch her dream bag on a piece of paper. Three years later, in 1984, the Birkin bag was launched. In this photograph, she sits relaxed on a stone staircase in Paris and maby reads through her shopping list.
