Marilyn Monroe (June 1, 1926 – August 4, 1962) was an American actress, model, and singer famous for playing comedic ‘blonde bombshell’ characters in films produced during the Golden Age of Hollywood. Monroe was a key figure in the changing attitudes towards sexuality during the 1950’s and 1960’s and long after her death, she has continued to be a major pop culture icon.
